Orchid House

Day Fifteen of the 2019 A-Z Challenge during the month of April. The challenge is to post six days a week, Sunday respite from writing or catching up with other participants and their posts. Each of the twenty-six days represents a letter of the alphabet and while each post stands alone they form part of a loose theme reflecting our retirement trip around Australia: Our Big Fat Aussie Road Trip.6 – 11 August 2018. Today our topic focusses on the letter O.

Orchid House, Mackay, Queensland

Majestic trees and tropical gardens surround a stunning collection of orchids at the Ken Burgess Display House. Volunteers co-ordinate the orchid house activities so hours are limited to staff availability. However, we were in luck the day we visited the Regional Council’s Queens Park and were treated to one of the best displays we’ve come across.
