I’ll read anything as long as it is well written. Life is too short to read badly written material whether it be magazines or books (and that goes for wine too). I read most genres although my tendency is towards biographies and educational. Having said that I am enjoying book four of the Game of Thrones series. The other book on the go at the moment is Susan Cain’s Quiet which extrapolates recent research into introversion and extraversion character types.
What is your biggest fear or phobia? (no photos please)
Financial insecurity in retirement.
What is your favorite cheese?
Blue vein, gorgonzola, stilton, tasty cheddar, edam, gruyere, pretty much any pukka cheese. The smellier and more mature the cheese the better I like it. I’m not fond of square cheese slices individually wrapped in cellophane, cheese out of a bottle or fruit and nuts mixed through processed cheese. Unlike most other foods – where I’ll eat most anything – I’m a purist with my cheeses. Yes, I am definitely a cheese snob and have been known to tut-tut when folk won’t even try to get past the smell of beautifully crafted cheeses in order to experience the rich flavours.
What is your favorite month of the year?
February, always. In the southern hemisphere it is the start of Autumn which has the best weather of all seasons. The heat has dissipated and people are more relaxed. It is also the month when routine settles again after the chaos of year end targets, Christmas festivities and offices running with fewer staff.
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
That every morning I pass the lake and lately it has been sparkling in the sun. The white painted houseboats sparkle in the sunlight as they bob contentedly on the blue waters. What a blessing to be able to start each day with a trip around the lake before heading into work along more congested roads.
I am looking forward to being a week closer to our two week camping holiday. This will be the second year we will meet up with others who own camper trailers. Last year there were around 100 people and being the tenth anniversary this year is shaping up to be bigger and better and a lot more fun.
