Early start to the day; woke at 5.30 and decided to go for a walk and spend the time wisely. Overcast but pleasant. Excellent time with Basil and good general conversation. The usual walkers were out enjoying the early morning. The lake was at very low tide with the sea grass evident at the point and a bit smelly. The two houses being built at the lake front at Blackalls Point look like they’re getting ready for Christmas by the lake.
Home again but decided against a swim as the solar pump has been turned off because of a suspected leak somewhere. Basil thinks it may be an o-ring somewhere and it has been sucking air. Coming out onto the back verandah noticed the white lily was asking to be repotted so did that. Enjoyed pottering about int he back garden mixing potting mix with compost and finding a suitable pot and potting up the lily. It looks pleased with itself now sitting on the verandah in its nice new tall burgundy pot. The Carolyn plant needs repotting too but am unsure what to do with it. I like it where it is on the verandah but Carolyn feels it needs to be indoors, which I’m reluctant to do as it is very dark inside.
Waiting for Fe to have breakfast. We’ve been doing Birscher Muesli and I made my own which is a pleasant change from Wheetbix. The two lorikeets that have decided the feeding trays belong to them have been asserting their authority over the pigeons. The fairy wrens are enjoying the mirror.
We had our Muesli, toast and cuppa tea for breakfast and headed off to Glendale to buy Fe a 250GB disc passport to back up her computer. We spent over an hour in Millers finding lots of clothes that had to come home with us. Eventually found our way into Dick Smith and was served by a young lad who thought that NZ and Aussie had the same currency and that NZ was the little triangle at the bottom of Australia … no kidding,
he wasn’t even joking
Installed the passport onto Fe’s machine and then set Time Machine going to back up her computer. Had lunch, did the washing and got that hung out. Time for another cuppa and then continuing on with our playing with our computers. Sat and wrote some short cuts for Fe as well as how to iPhoto import.
We also played with MacJournal and did a video of what we thought about yesterday’s trip down to Sydney and the show Wicked at the Capitol Theatre.
In the evening we went over the Warners Bay to a new Thai restaurant, took a bottle of NZ red. The food was lovely. Basil had his usuall Thai Green chicken curry. Fe and I had prawns – Fe with veges and me with Chilli Basil. Came home and then spent some more time with Fe and the Mac showing her how to put together a slide show of their photos in al album she had of a bike trip to the Chateau.
